At Inspira Behavioral Health, we support adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental disabilities in living as independently, confidently, and meaningfully as possible. For eligible individuals living in Illinois, the Adults with Developmental Disabilities Waiver — a Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) program — provides access to a broad range of individualized supports designed to promote community participation, skill development, and quality of life.
Adult behavioral services under the DDD Waiver include individualized behavior intervention and treatment focused on increasing functional skills and supporting meaningful, community-focused outcomes. These services are designed to help adults:
Develop communication, social, and daily living skills
Increase independence in home and community settings
Reduce behaviors that interfere with participation, safety, or quality of life
Build strategies for emotional regulation and self-advocacy
Support success at work, in relationships, and in community activities
By partnering with individuals and their support networks, our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and clinical team create personalized plans that focus on measurable progress and real-world achievements.
For adults aged 18 and older who are eligible for the DDD Waiver, behavioral services may be combined with other waiver supports to create a holistic plan of care. These may include:
✔ Behavior intervention and treatment tailored to individual needs
✔ Behavioral counseling and support services
✔ Training and counseling for caregivers and unpaid support people
✔ Community habilitation, day services, and vocational supports
✔ Personal support and non-medical transportation
✔ Self-direction assistance to manage services and providers
These services all work together to help adults thrive in their homes and communities, maintain meaningful roles, and express their preferences and goals.
The DDD Waiver exists to help adults remain in community and home-based settings rather than institutional care. By combining evidence-based therapy, life-skills development, and personalized support, adults can:
✨ Build confidence and independence
✨ Strengthen social and community engagement
✨ Improve day-to-day functioning
✨ Create a life aligned with personal strengths and goals
Our team at Inspira Behavioral Health is experienced in navigating DDD Waiver programs and delivering compassionate, goal-driven care that respects each individual’s dignity, priorities, and potential.
